«The HISTORY of the ARCTIC EXPLORATION – from the PAST to the FUTURE»

Northern (Arctic) Federal University (NArFU), Northern department of the Russian Service for Hydrometeorology and Environmental Monitoring and Arkhangelsk branch of the Russian Geographical Society hereby invite you to take part in the international conference “History of the Arctic exploration – from the past to the future” which is to be held on 12-13 September, 2012 in the NArFU in Arkhangelsk, Russia.
The conference is aimed to evaluation of the processes in the Arctic exploration history, as well as setting the perspectives and priorities for further investigation.

- The Arctic exploration history
- Exploration and preservation of the Arctic cultural heritage
- Indigenous people – the guardians of the Arctic history
- History of the Arctic navigation
- The history of the international cooperation in the Arctic – from the opposition to cooperation
- Vaigach – the island of the Arctic gods
- The history of interregional relations in the Arctic
We invite scientists, the staff of the scientific and research organizations, museums, archives, libraries, the representatives of the authority and creative community.
Applications and theses of prospective participants are to be submitted by 30th June, 2012. Registration of applications is available on the conference’s web-page arctich.narfu.ru or by e-mail email@example.com.
Abstracts: The title of the file is to coincide with the surname of the first author. The volume of the theses must not exceed 1000 words and take not more than 2 lists, A series (font Times New roman, 12; 2,5 cm up from each side of the page). The heading of the theses should contain the name, the authorship, organization, full address. The theses should not contain subtitles, diagrams, drawings and any standard violation. The theses are accepted till the 30th June, 2012.
